Textbooks handover to local ITE institutions

In the scope of the QATEK project, purchasing of modern textbooks for modelling quality delivery of teacher education was envisioned.

On February 16, the Faculty of Education at the University of Prishtina, as project coordinator, has handed over the purchased textbooks to representatives of the University of Mitrovica, Gjilan, and Gjakova. The purchased textbooks are all in the English language and published in the last five years.

In this ceremonial event, the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Dr. Naser Sahiti congratulated the QATEK project’s initiative by discussing the importance of literature in improving the quality of teacher education. Rectors, Vice-rectors and Deans from the University of Mitrovica, Gjilan, and Gjakova were also present and indicated the tremendous support they have been receiving from the QATEK project in efforts to develop the new teacher professionalism.

The ERASMUS plus QATEK project Coordinator, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Blerim Saqipi considers the provision of new textbooks as an input that will help teacher educators to model the implementation of the student-centred teaching towards quality-oriented initial teacher education in Kosovo.

The ceremony was concluded with a symbolic signing of a verification document on textbooks handover from the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Dr. Naser Sahiti, Rectors of University of Mitrovica, Gjilan, and Gjakova, and the ERASMUS plus QATEK project Coordinator, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Blerim Saqipi.
